Ferrite content of austenitic or duplex steels is critical in all applications where such steels are exposed to heat, abrasive, high pressure, corrosion etc. Ferrite content in austenite and duplex steel is determined non-destructively by magnetic induction method. In addition to delta ferrite, other magnetizable phases such as strain-induced martensite or other ferrite phases can be measured.
