Hardness Tests

Hardness of materials can be tested with various kind of hardness measurement methods. Therefore, results of hardness measurement should be characterized by the hardness measurement method used. Hardness of materials can be locally varied with welding process.

APPLICATION STANDARDS:

TS EN ISO 9015-1:      Destructive tests on welds in metallic materials – Hardness testing – Part 1: Hardness test on arc welded joints.

TS EN ISO 6506:         Metallic materials – Brinell hardness test – Part 1: Test method. 1 kgf – 250 kgf, 1 mm, 2,5 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm Brinell ball diameters, Brinell (HB)

TS EN ISO 6507-1:      Metallic materials – Vickers hardness test – Part 1: Test method

TS EN ISO 6508:         Metallic materials – Rockwell hardness test – Part 1: Test method (HR)

TS EN ISO 4545:         Metallic materials – Knoop hardness test – Part 1: Test method. 500 gf – 2kgf. Knoop (HK)

TS EN ISO 898-1:        Mechanical properties of fasteners made of carbon steel and alloy steel – Part 1: Bolts, screws and studs with specified property classes — Coarse thread and fine pitch thread
